A day trip to Adadi Mariam and Tiya is a great idea! Adadi Mariam is a 12th-century rock-hewn church located near Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This church is known for its unique architecture and stunning frescoes, and it’s believed to be one of the oldest rock-hewn churches in the country.

The church is carved into the side of a hill and features intricate stone carvings and beautiful paintings on its walls. On the same day, you can also visit Tiya, a UNESCO World Heritage site that’s home to 36 ancient stone stele (obelisks) that date back to the 12th century.
