Description
A full-day city tour of Addis Ababa would take you to the city’s iconic landmarks and historic sites. The day begins at the National Museum, which houses Ethiopia’s rich cultural and historical heritage, including the fossilized remains of Lucy, the 3.2 million-year-old hominid.
From there, you’ll visit the Ethionography Museum and the former Imperial Palace, also known as the Jubilee Palace, which serves as the Ethiopian Emperor’s official residence. You’ll also explore the vibrant Merkato Market, one of the largest and busiest markets in Africa, where you can find everything from traditional crafts to fresh produce.
After lunch, you’ll visit the St. George Cathedral, a beautiful 19th-century church that is a prime example of Ethiopian architecture, and then head to the Mount Entoto viewpoint for panoramic views of the city. Finally, you will visit Entoto Mountain, which offers a panoramic view of Addis Ababa.
